| Important Dates: | August 20, 1930 – Portland City Council passes ordinance 59178 allowing the Pacific Northwest Public Service Company to transfer its city transit properties to the Portland Traction Company, a subsidiary; and its power properties to the Portland General Electric Company. August 23, 1930 – Ordinance 59178 is accepted by the Pacific Northwest Public Service Company. April 26, 1946 – PTC is sold to the San Francisco-based Portland Transit Company, ending its long relationship with PEPCO and PGE.
