Sometimes called the “Stanton-street car barn.” Originally built to house and service steam motors for the St. Johns line, it outlasted the adjoining track on N Commercial Street into the streetcar era, serving the Lower and Upper Albina lines. It was eventually supplanted by the Piedmont barns.

John Labbe notes the construction of a second Albina car barn at “Elliott and Whalley [sic: This should be Hawley] streets near the original Albina barn” to house 25 new Pullman double-truck electric cars in late 1891/early 1892, but I have yet to find any newspaper articles that support this assertion. It’s perhaps worth noting that this is literally the same intersection that the original barn was located at.
