A Jewish cemetery located in the hills of southwest Portland. Founded in 1875, it is the oldest continuously operating Jewish cemetery in the United States. It is mostly notable in the context of this research for granting an easement along the western edge of the cemetery for the Metropolitan Railway Company’s pioneering Fulton Park electric line in November 1890.
