The initial operating segment of the Willamette Bridge Railway Company’s lines, running from Holladay Street in the north to Division Street in the south along Fifth Street (now Grand Avenue) in East Portland. Transfer could be made at Morrison Street to cross the Willamette River to Portland. Service was given by horsecars, though these were gradually phased out as electric cars began to be brought into service. From September 1890 onwards, horsecars only operated between Holladay and Morrison streets as the Woodstock and Richmond electric lines provided service along Fifth Street south of Morrison.
