A long-lasting manufacturer of streetcars, interurbans, trolleybuses and motor buses based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. At is height, the Brill Company was the largest such company in the United States and built more than 45,000 streetcars. Over the years, it bought out many competing companies, such as the American Car Company in 1902 (which it operated as a subsidiary), the G. C Kuhlman Car Company and the Jewett Car Company. Brill cars were present in Portland from the early days right up to the end of interurban service in 1958.
