This company took up where the previous Oregon City & Molalla Railway Company (which had shared leadership with this company) had left off, trying to raise capital to build a railway line south out of Oregon City. Nothing much developed until Frederic M. Swift, who had been trying to build his own line out of Marquam, joined the company in May 1908. He set about raising subscriptions from farmers and property owners along the proposed line with far better results than had previously been made, and the scope of the project increased as a result. With this success, the company reincorporated again as the Clackamas Southern Railway Company, with more capital and Mr. Swift as president instead of Grant B. Dimick.
