And then there was (mostly) one: all the myriad streetcar companies that had existed up to this point in time were absorbed into the behemoth enterprise of PRL&P, which generated and distributed power to residents, businesses and other electric rail companies, and ran all the city lines plus three interurban lines radiating out from Portland.
