A database of the location of still extant remnants of streetcar and interurban infrastructure in and around Portland. At a minimum, each entry will have a short description, GPS coordinates and a link to the Google Street View of the site with a screen shot. If I get out to visit the site, then I’ll add personal photos as well.
I’ll also add locations and dates where track is known to have been removed. Road works and other infrastructure projects often uncover old streetcar tracks, and PBOT has begun a program of removing track if it believes that road maintenance costs can be reduced by the removal – the N Lombard Street Repair Project in 2022 being a good example of this policy.
