A local manufacturing company that quickly pivoted to all things streetcar – cars, trucks and even switches and frogging for track – as the networks started to expand in Portland. After producing some fine cars for the City & West Portland Park Motor Company and the Metropolitan Railway Company, they changed their name to the Columbia Car & Tool Company and moved their works to the Mechanics’ Pavilion to turn out more cars for local streetcar companies.
