A large and ornate station and car barn built near the western approach of the bridge across the Willamette River between Oregon City and what is now West Linn. Completed before the Willamette Falls railway line was put into operation, it was noted by the Oregon City Enterprise that “the station is fitted up about ten times as fine as the Southern Pacific’s excuse for a depot.”
From 1913 (when the city was incorporated) to 1936, the station also housed West Linn’s city hall, outlasting the railway itself. In 1936, a new purpose-built city hall was constructed almost directly in front of the old station: this two-story brick building is still extant today. Once it was completed in June 1936, the old station was demolished. Aerial photography from that year shows the new city hall but no station.
