Seems to have been formed as a stub line when the East Ankeny line was merged with the Montavilla line in May 1913, though the EA line was sometimes referred to as the “Twenty-eighth Street” line prior to 1913. Citizens of the time were furious, as they believed that their service should be through-running to the city instead of being required to change at NE 28th and Glisan.
A Portland Traction Company “Yellow Notice” gives the last day of service on the line as November 21, 1936.
