Chronological lists of important dates and events for all known streetcar lines, with attributed sources indicated. Much use will be made of contemporaneous newspaper articles and maps. An asterisk in dates means that Richard Thompson’s or John Labbe’s dating is being used pending a first-hand source of proof, one way or the other.

The icons next to each line’s name represents how complete the information for each line is. Green means I think I’ve completed a history of the line from beginning to end. I’m starting to develop chronological line diagrams for these “completed” lines, which often enables me to discover that I really haven’t completed things at all… (for example, the map for the Broadway line has been revised multiple times already as new information comes to hand).
